Method I am employing: MELT Method
This week we had a number of Aligned Life Community members with the condition plantar fasciitis.  This is caused by inflammation occurring at the bottom of the foot.  Having personally struggled with this type of problem during my triathlon training I have utilized the MELT method to help.  This involves using a ball (preferably something reasonably hard like a lacrosse ball) and pressing into the tissues from the heel into the forefoot.  For all the details on how to utilize this technique, take a look at the above-linked video.  I believe you will be shocked at how much better your feet feel after just a few minutes of doing this method!

Hack I am loving: Post Valentines Day Card Purchase
Some of you may like this one and some of you may hate it…either way, I think it is pretty efficient.  This past week one of the Aligned Life Community members (Thanks Mike!) told me how he makes sure to never miss getting something for his wife for Valentine’s Day.  A few years ago, he went on February 16th (two days AFTER Valentines Day) and purchased, at a significant discount, 10 Valentine’s Day cards.  He took them, stored them in his bedside table, and each year, when the day arrives, pulls one out, writes a sincere message, and gives it to his wife.  I thought this was pretty genius and also a bit funny.  However, if you are the type of person that struggles to remember these types of holidays, this may be the perfect hack for you!

This week I don’t have any words of wisdom or any insights, just wanted to bring a little laughter into your day and let you know that I really appreciate you for taking the time to read my email.  See you in the clinic!

Have a kick ass week everyone!

Track What Matters. Decide With Clarity. Get to Work. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about intentionality. We all have areas of our lives that matter—health, family, finances, relationships, work, fitness—but how often do we actually stop and measure whether our daily behaviors are moving those areas in the right direction? This week, I’m experimenting […]

This week, I pulled my old, rusty mountain bike out of retirement. The first stop wasn’t the trail—it was the bike shop! I had a new chain installed and asked them to make sure everything was safe before I attempted to ride it again. My motivation for getting back into mountain biking is actually pretty […]
