Podcast I am hearingThe Less Doing Podcast by Ari Meisel
Do you have 5-10 min?  Would you be interested in learning a ton of quality personal and business principles?  Meisel is a business coach that has been producing a podcast that turns out short episodes that are packed with solid content.  I love the short nature of these segments as well as the overarching theme of creating redundancy and replaceability in a business.

Book I am hearing: The Effective Executive by Peter Drucker
Lately I have been looking to increase my productivity without increasing the amount of time it takes to get the work done.  To that end, I picked up the Audible version of The Effective Executive.  Drucker believes that becoming effective is a learned behavior and is a collaboration of choosing one thing to focus on, time blocking, eliminating pointless meetings, making swift decisions and remaining disciplined.   This book was written in the 1950’s however remains a classic for anyone looking to increase their contribution to an organization.

Quote I am loving: “It is more productive to convert an opportunity into results than to solve a problem, which only restores the equilibrium of yesterday. ” ~ Peter Drucker in The Effective Executive
Do you ever feel like you don’t have time to actually work on the things that will push you in the direction you want to go? Are you stuck just barely getting the grunt work done?  I believe this is a common problem that I have faced over my professional career.  Until you can decide to make one thing a priority and refuse to start anything else before that one thing is accomplished, you will always feel inhibited.  Identify what you want to achieve, block out the time to get it done and stop everything else you normally do until it is accomplished!

Have a kick ass week everyone!

Track What Matters. Decide With Clarity. Get to Work. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about intentionality. We all have areas of our lives that matter—health, family, finances, relationships, work, fitness—but how often do we actually stop and measure whether our daily behaviors are moving those areas in the right direction? This week, I’m experimenting […]
