Book I am listening toThe Untethered Soul by Michael Singer
Have you ever wanted to know who you really are?  Or have you ever realized, even for a moment, that you are not your mind?  If so, you may have a desire to understand the limitless nature of yourself.  If this sounds like you, I strongly recommend picking up a copy of this book.  Through the use of easy to understand metaphors and analogies, Singer explains profound truths concerning the separation between you and the tool we call “the mind”.  This crucial distinction allows a person to truly live a free and peaceful existence.

Quote I am pondering: “Eventually you will see the real cause of problem is not life itself.  It is the commotion the mind makes about life that really causes the problem. ”  ~ Michael Singer in “The Untethered Soul”
So many things that cause disturbance in our minds and take us away from peace are insignificant.  In fact, most of them arise because your life events do not match up exactly with the story you made up in your head about how things should work.  Another way of saying this is, life commonly does not match your model.  This self inflicted pain can be avoided entirely by realizing that your model is just that, a creation of your mind.  It is not reality.  By simply allowing life events to happen, witness them and allow them to pass, we can sit in the seat of the observer rather than hit every bump that comes along the way.

Have a kick ass week everyone!

Track What Matters. Decide With Clarity. Get to Work. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about intentionality. We all have areas of our lives that matter—health, family, finances, relationships, work, fitness—but how often do we actually stop and measure whether our daily behaviors are moving those areas in the right direction? This week, I’m experimenting […]
